Projects We Support

We are continuing to fund multi year projects begun in 2010 and 2011 in Africa, Asia and the Americas.

In Africa, we are strengthening and supporting the local civil organizations’ and forest communities’ rights to their land and resources.
An example of this support is funding paralegal training and deployment of local workers in identified “hot spots”, located in the Central African Republic and Gabon where indigenous peoples’ human rights are threatened or abused.

In Asia, we are providing integral support to groups in Papua New Guinea and Malaysia who are fighting for the recognition of their rights to exist on and control their land.

In the Americas, our work takes place in Bolivia, Guyana, Panama, Brazil, Ecuador,
and Peru. We are supporting indigenous organizations with special emphasis on their right
to protect their land against invasion; their right to water; and natural resource management.

In Africa, Asia and the Americas, our work on climate change continues and we are strengthening our vital effort to inform our partners about the right to be consulted on any Government initiative that could have an impact on their land and lives.

Further details to be posted soon.
